Wildhorn Outfitters Sand Escape Beach Blanket is perfect when going to the beach. There are a lot and I mean A LOT of Sand Blankets out there, and even though it’s impossible to completely get rid of ALL Sand, we can confidently say that this one can get pretty close.
Material and Look
The Wildhorn Outfitters Sand Escape Beach Blanket is made of 100% Parachute Nylon. Since this type of material is very light and thin, it’s perfect to carry almost anywhere. It includes an attached sack where you easily carry it on the go.
The size of the Wildhorn Sand Escape Blanket is a 9X7’ design allowing you to easily fit all your friends or family!
In addition, it does appear that the center stitching is triple stitched so it does not come apart. On the ends it appears to be stitched, yet the design is a little off, but works nonetheless. You can find the logo on the top of the beach so you know which way it should face.
Although, you will not notice a difference if the logo is on the other side.
What’s it Got?
The Wildhorn Sand Escape beach blanket comes with a compression buckle allowing you to either carry it or compress it smaller. I personally have used it as a carry handle which works fine.
It comes with 4 sand pockets, which means you can easily scoop beach sand into them creating more stability in the blanket. The pockets are not zippered, but if you fill enough sand then they will hold just fine.
However, if you try overstuffing the pockets and with enough motion, they will dump out. The Wildhorn beach blanket comes with an additional pocket in the center that can be zippered where you can place any valuables or smaller things in it. This can keep your phone or other small things sand-proof.
Once you’re ready to leave, this sand blanket could not be easier!
In addition, once you’re ready to leave the beach, it can be easily compressed into its built-in sac allowing you to easily carry it.
Got Sand?
As far as sand goes, it passes the sand test. Because the material is made from 100% Nylon the sand can easily slide right off it with no worry.
Although nothing is 100% sand-proof at the beach, you can get really close to it. The sand blanket can get damped and you will find some very small particles of sand left behind. It isn’t so much, so it never really creates a problem for us.
Care Instructions
It is machine washable so you can throw it in the wash. I have hand washed my sand escape beach blanket a couple of times and it amazes me how quickly it dries.
It does come with 4 sand anchors bag-like pouches in which you can easily fill up with sand. It would be nice if it had maybe some more in middle, but still works fine. You can either add sand or rocks to hold down the sand blanket from blowing.
One thing, if you do take pizza to the beach, then definitely make sure you do not lay it on the sand blanket. I did this and the grease stains from the pizza box transferred to the blanket. I could not get them all out.

Wherever you choose to purchase it, will definitely be worth it. I’ve used this blanket 4 times now and it’s still going strong. I did notice that when I did purchase it, the stitching was off a little.
Conclusion
The Wildhorn Outfitters Seaview Sand Escape Beach Blanket is definitely one of the nice blankets to buy out there. It features everything you are looking for in a sand blanket, including built-in sand anchors pockets, to put sand inside them or something heavy.
In addition, its large widespread layout is perfect to fit your entire family or friends on it. It is pretty much sand proof where sand will easily slide right off. You can shake off the sand, but not get rid of it 100%. It does dry quickly, after being moistened with water.
The only downside of this sand blanket is that it is very thin, so if you are looking for a padded mat then this may not be it. Since it is made of Nylon, it does dry very quickly. You can purchase this beach blanket at Wildhorn or even Amazon.
The cool thing about this company is that it gives back to the community donating a portion of its proceeds to the Reef2Leaf conservation effort.
